As I am in charge of making the cover page, contents page and the editorial page, I had to use different approach for each page. For the cover, I animated everything in After Effects and later on inported the video into Indesign to be exported as .mib with the help of the plug in called Mag+. There was a problem when I was previewing it in the iPad, the video won't show. I even tried importing the video to Edge animate and publishing it as html and then importing the html to Indesign, it still didn't work. Somehow, some of us couldn't get our stuff to work on the school's iPad and we had to use Mr Razif's iPad instead. After everything was working, I added music to the cover page through Indesign. For table of contents, I had to also try different approach for it because of the iPad problem. At first I did the jump link through Edge Animate but it didn't work. So I used Indesign instead and that did not work ath first either. Truns out, the other team was also having trouble with their table of content and after one whole night in campus we managed to solve the problem. The editorial page was surprisingly the easiest to do. I just did everything in Edge Animate and imported the htlm file into Indesign, somehow it worked for this part even in the school's iPad so I am really curious as to what is the real problem. After everything was done, Casey compiles all the mib files and we have our final product! We handed it in yesterday (Friday, 9 Dec 2016) to Mr Razif, online, ad we could not have our presenation due to another presentation that day.

After consultations and several revampings, we finally have a prototype of the interactive magazine. It was quite a struggle for me to finalise our title design for the cover page as the background was making it hard. Also, the design was to flat. Also, after the prototype presentation to Mr Razif, we were told that the traditional page design does not suit our overall look, so we did the whole section from zero. Before (left) and after (right). And finally, our the prototype! Now we can work on making the interactions. We decided to shoot the videos for our cover and content page this week before the studio is busy. We prepared 2 lava cakes for the shoot and luckily we did beacuse when we cut into the first one, the cake was already too cold for the chocolate to flow. The shoot and the chocolate did not go as smoothly as we wanted. So we decided to borrow the microwave from the lecturers' lounge which of course we asked a lecturer to help us get access to anf ran back to the studio to shoot before the cake becomes cold again. Also, we did a photoshoot of each of us for our editorial page. After the shoot, we started to divide tasks for the content, it's as follows: Today before class we went to the dessert places for our research and to get our contents. We took down notes and pictures for the review sections. One thing was that it was hard for us to take a 360 picture of the places because they were full of people. So we decided on just taking normal pictures.
This week we further discuss on details of our contents like which dessert places will we be going to, the contents of our traditional dessserts section (which we then decided on having backstories and recipes for the part), content of the polling for our dessert of the month section and the quiz we're going to have in out magazine. Quiz!
Which Dessert matches your personality the most? Results:
1. If you are in a zombie apocalypse, which would you bring together with you?
2. What activity would you choose if you have a free weekend with nothing to do?
3. If you planned an outing with all your friends, but none of them show up, what would you do?
4. You just broke up with your significant other, what do you do to get over it?
5. If you had any superpower, what would you want?
This week we did our first presentation and also submission of our proposal.
After consultation with Mr Razif this week, we were told to make a few changes. We basically have to think of one extra section because most of our sections are pretty similar, all goes back to recipes. Here are the feedback we got from the discussion:
This week we had a few meetings to discuss the content of our magazine. I never really read magazines about desserts or food in general so I went to ask my friend who studies patisserie. She gave a few ideas and after discussing witht the team we came up with these:
We also did some research on specific contents for each sections. There were a lot to choose from but we'll have to eventually narrow it down so that we dont overwhelm ourselves. Not just the contents, we also came up with ideas of what kind of interactions we should add to our interactive magazine to make it interesting. And we planned to have videos so that the users will better understand the recipes. Next thing we did was discuss on the designs of our pages, that is after we finalised our contents. We have a few ideas for each sections of the magazines and we want to make each of them unique. From having animations in the cover page to pop ups on sections of the contents. Below are the ideas we chose: Today (yesterday, it's 1am) I created this page. So I decided to do some research for the cover of our magazine. As I have mentioned in the previous entry, we are going for a simple look for our cover. Which reminds me, I tried to look through some interactive magazine online but what I found were pretty boring, but they do tell me more about e-magazines. Also, while writing the updates, I just want to remind myself to ask these in our next meeting:
